THE medical experts warn that the adhesive substance used to mengekstensi eyelashes can carry the risk of infection, allergic reactions, and even the original cause eyelashes to fall out.


Popular beauty procedure that attach false eyelashes lashes look thicker original order is the subject of Consumer Reports investigation.
The doctors in the report said that adhesives used by beauty salons to glue false eyelashes contain formaldehyde. These substances can be dangerous because many people are allergic to it.
Dr, Neda Shamie, a professor of ophthalmology at the Doheny Eye Institute in Beverly Hills, California, United States of America told ABC News, "Any exposure to chemicals can make the cornea (eye) fragile or vulnerable and irritation and infection, can be dangerous."
"But even if a person is not allergic to formaldehyde (formalin), eyelash extensions can cause an infection known as madarosis," said Philip R Rizzuto, MD, secretary of communications for the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
"Sometimes irritation from the glue used can cause women rub or pull their eyelashes," he said. He also added that many eye doctors have reported a rise in the number of patients with problems related to eyelash extensions.
Consumer Reports warns that eyelash extensions can also form the residence of dirt and bacteria, thereby increasing the risk of infection.
And the College of Optometrists in the UK warned that the eyelash extension procedure can even cause permanent eyelash loss, as reported by the Daily Mail.
"Doing repeatedly eyelash extensions can cause traction alopecia, a condition in which hair loss due to excessive tension on the hair shaft. As a result, it can damage the hair follicles, which can slow and even stop the production of hair, "said a press release.
But the Association for Damage-Free Eyelash Extensions told ABC News that the 'adhesive (for extension) should not contain formaldehyde', 'available hypoallergenic adhesive', and 'eyelash extensions done with harmless'.

  1. Eyelash growth is a good solution for immediate result, but be aware that no matter what type of extension you get they will thin out your natural eyelashes. Other thing to keep in mind is the maintenance and restriction of having eyelash extension.
